I'm moving now within a couple of weeks, and the area i'm moving to doesn't have Cable or DSL.. which is odd due to the fact that there are 3 very large cities that surround this place.

So what do i do? I'm pretty much forced with Satellite correct? If so, i don't know how i'm going to make it without Cable, there goes gaming which is probably one of the last things i still do that i enjoy.

Anyone else know anything i could possibly do? I seriously don't think I can go on without cable or dsl. :/ as sad as that sounds...
The only way i can relate this to cpu is.. wow i have two really fast computers , but now i pretty much have no use for them.

DIAL UP!! where are you moving to? I assume there's no T1, since cable or DSL, you could give ISDN a shot, try it for a month, if it's too slow for you, you could always cancel it.

In my experience ISDN is not worth it.

I'll get so desperate it's not even funny. I'd pay 60 dollars a month for cable now.
I'll give it all a go. It's not going to be possible to play battlefield vietnam and any other fps without dsl or higher.

you cant use Satellite for gaming i have it and hvae to use my isdn line for games cause Satellite gives u an 800ms because of the distance from the Satellite it self and the dish.

isdn is worthless, twice as fast as 56k dial up, big deal. 10 kb is the same as 1 when your that slow.

Yea it is sad, but there are phone lines.. and where there are phone lines i might be able to get DSL still. I just have to do some trickery. I never thought i'd see the day where i need DSL.. i know there's no hope for cable.

Sorry to hear your plight.But there is at least one thing you have not looked at and that is the fact that it can't get much worse?Hope you figure something out,,,?may be you could visit relitives or friends somewhere you can get on line with a good connection, or maybe even make some new friends where your moving that have the same taste in games and start a lan party thing???Well anyway some things to consider...:<)

Yea, there are some cool console games i can't wait for like gran turismo 4. I'll just have to buy a sweet ass wheel or something.
Luckily I do have a friend with cable and i go to his house every weekend.. So it shouldn't be too bad. Just during the week it's going to blow.

Well... lol i don't think "comcast" will enjoy me stealing their cable, but the thing that's really holding me back is he's about 45 minutes away.. so probably a good 40 miles away. That's a lot of cat5 and repeaters.
