I am wondering is PC gaming even worth the price? I like mobility, so laptops are VERY expensive for gaming. But do they go outdated to fast? I don't want to fork out like $2,000 (maybe $1,000) in something that will last for only a year or 2, when I can get a $400 console that will last for about 6 years. So, is PC gaming worth it?

Not on a laptop. Do your self a favor. Just get a simple i3 laptop for $300 and get a $700 gaming PC. That $700 gaming pc will be alot better than a $1500 laptop and will be alot more upgrade-able.

Hi :)

You talked about PC GAMING...

But yes its the best card in the world.... well worth it...

I own Computer shops...and sell Laptops...and GAMING laptops...to get even REASONABLE gaming on a Laptop you NEED to spend over $2000, preferably over $3000..

A console cannot do LOTS of things a laptop can... like be MOBILE to start with ...lol

All the best Brett :)

Beating a dead horse with this subject, It's worth every penny in my opinion. A mid to high end computer will typically last you a good 4-5 years depending on if your a person that likes to have every game maxed out and even if the graphic settings are toned down to get better performance the comparison between console and PC are not even comparable.

If you have to ask the question, then you already know the answer. To you it is NOT worth it, but to many it is.

Is it better to just build it yourself or customize it with a company like Dell does with Alienware?

It's not that I don't want it, it's cost, being only 14, it's not exactly like I can exactly upgrade it every 4 months.

First of all , Brett you lucky bastard.

Secondly , If you want a gaming laptop that will last for quite some time then you will have to spend more than 1500$ easily. Every day laptops aren't basically made for mobile gaming.

If you want a cheaper setup , then as Brett said , build a gaming PC.
You can build a decent one for about 700-800$ that won't play all games on ultra at 60 FPS + , but will do the job.
