Hi folks,

I've decided I'd like to try out a StarTac 7868W, since the price for
doing so is pretty low these days. Given that VZW stores won't update the
firmware any more (right?), it seems like whatever version the phone comes
with, I'm stuck with. I was wondering what the minimum firmware version I
should accept is? I don't care about SMS.

According to <http://ridge.trideja.com/wireless/swrev.html>, version 7059
"fixes some handoff issues", which would seem to imply that I certainly
want that version or higher.

Any thoughts on this issue?

Thanks very much for your help,

Reid

I got a store in Plano, TX up update the firmware on one about a month ago.
You'll need to find a store that's been around a while so that they might
have the right cable sitting stashed away somewhere. Newer stores won't
have the cable. Just about any store can get the firmware from their
internal sources. I think the latest version is 7654.

You could buy a 7868 with the (latest) 7654 software...
cheaply.
