i've got a 9800pro (128mb) on a Asus P4PE mobo with 512 corsair XMS and a 2.4b @ 2.88ghz (ram running @ 400mhz)

3dMark 2001: 15500 points (stock GPU/RAM speeds)
when I oc the GPU and Graphics ram to say 412/360 my benchmark improves by about 100 points

My questions are
shouldn't the increase be a bit better with that overclock.
The score seems relatively low for a 9800pro (i'd expect 16000 or more) whats the problem, the fact that the mobo has 4x AGP or that my PIV runs on a single channel ram mobo, or cpu speed... (btw at 3ghz I also only get about a 100 point increase)

No AGP is NOT bottlenecking your video card, since AGP8X and AGP4X makes no difference on that gen of cards, it sounds like software problem, like driver conflicts, or missing drivers, try removing all old drivers video/chipset, then reinstall it all. Or the best way to make sure, format and reinstall windows.

ok thanks, I'll do that after I finish my exams. I always use the latest catalyst drivers so I really can't put my finer on the problem software wise... Mobo bios is the latest available

ok well i just benched it and i got 15360 stock speeds and 15280 over clocked.WTF less of a score when over clocked?
well i ran many bench marks overclocked and stock and it bounced between 1520 and 15700 but overclocking seemed to have no differecne on score.

yup yup your setup is almost identical, I don't know what the problem is. Aquamark yesterday was somwhere in high 39k region.

setup at this moment
2.4b@160fsbx18 (=2882mhz)
512mb ddr400 (turbo setting in asus bios)
radeon 9800pro (stock at the moment)

I do know that in the beginning I got scrores in 3dmark01 of 16000+. Maybe it's the new catalyst drivers. Or maybe it's the oc tool i use (from www.3drage.com)

Later I thought it's because I have two monitors on the card but switching one off makes no difference.

Any way I'm gonna wait for my waterblock for my GPU, (and then rape that f***g videocard, hope it breaks caus I wanna have a x800pro :p ) reinstall windows and all of that sh!t and then I'll get back to you.

I think the 4.5 catalyst (I just upadate it every time I see there's a new version) setting the profile to 3dmark20010 should have an effect. I think it might actually be the catalyst drivers I'm gonnan try installing 3.9 and then see what happens

You got a driver issue. Reinstall the MOBO driver with the latest version and rip/reinstall the AGP drivers. May need to use driver cleaner. That will give you a 4500 point boost.
