Should you maintain GPU and MEM clock speed ration from default when you overclock, or is there a rule of thumb that says say 'always ensure the MEM is twice GPU clock speen for best performance'
Has anyone out there done this analasys?

That's bullsh*t, some card gains more perform with higher mem clock, some with core. On my card it's core, on the newer X800 series the mem gains more. You'll have to figure out which gives u more performance on ur card.

OK OK, these were my thoughts, just soliciting input. I usually maintain the same persentage overclock for MEM and GPU myself and have tended to get optimum results, and best overclock, and did not know if this was a fluke or something to do with the chip-set and overall architecture of the graphics IC solution as a whole.

To the point where, if I now increase either CPU or MEM by a 1hz, I get some tearing and/or snow effects.

Unusuall especially since I found the same on my Ge-Force 3, even after with full GPU/MEM volt mods, and some aggressive Peltier cooling (problem here is condesation).

Just seened strange, and more than chance that's all!!

Your snow/tearing is purely by coincidence. If you change the ratio it has no effect.
