Question about O'cing with this CPU/Mobo combo...

I have a few questions:

1) If I were not going to over-clock would I get better performance from a Barton 2600+ than a 2500+ using a Gigabyte GA-7VT600-1394 mobo? Any suggestions for memory?

2) Which of the above cpu's has the best over-clocking potential the Barton 2500+ or 2600+ with the above mobo? Is there a better combo I should go with for around the same price range? What speed memory would be best?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have a good day all !!

  1. It's a VIA chipset mobo you can't OC for sh*t. don't bother just get a 2600+ and some generic PC3200 ram.

  2. yep, nvidia chipsest are the way to if you want to overclock.

  3. 1) 2600+, some specific applications will benefit more from extra L2 than speed, but not a lot.

    2) MOBILE BARTON is the best option. Cheap ($77) and easy to overclock (usually to 2.4Ghz on air)
