Hi all you overclocking gurus.

My HP bombed after 3 years and I ended up buying a new motherboard. I'm not rich, so I went to Fry's and bought a ECS K7VTA3 with an AMD XP 2200 DUV Thornton. When I start my PC it says that the AMD is a 1350 mhz chip rather than 2200.

Did I forget to set something up on the motherboard or ??

Thanks for all the help in advance.

2200+ rating does not run at 2200mhz. The 2500 runs at 1.8Ghz. Its a rating roughly equivilant to an intel Pentium 4. E.g. the AMD Athlon 2500+ is about as good as a P4 2.5 ghz

Let's stick on topic here, the 2200+ should run at approximately 1800mhz, therefore it should run at 13.5x133, but you're running at 13.5x100, so you have to increase the FSB to 133, i believe this could be done in the bios.

Hey, jst cos you probly screwed up installing it or something doesn't mean you should take it out on ECS. ECS are my fav brand and do great stuff (who else would come up with a board that supports most modern processors?). So dont knock a great company because of your mistakes!

Pentium 4 2.8 @ 3.2 + ASUS P4P800 + 512mb DDR400 Ram at 230mhz + XpertVision 6600GT 560mhz core and 1.11ghz ram = 8500 on 3DMark 2003.
