ok im only 16 and dont have alot of cash to spend.. so spare me the you need a better card crap.. first of i have a msi geforce4 mx440 (the 8x one with passive heatsink)

i know it has horible 5ns memory and is clocked lower than other mx440's... TIME TO OVERCLOCK!

Most reviews i read said that they maxed out coolbits and rivatuner... so i figured this must be ok.. and 8k 2001se isnt to shabby considering my last card got 2k...

1) what tool is best for overclocking and if i max out coolbits then how can i go further... especially since they maxed on that passive cooling and im proboboly gonna stick a golden orb or something laying around...

2) What are the chances of me frying it.. and if i do fry it can i bring it back for waranty... my case is running 30C right now so im not sure how i am for airflow but i can pick up a tornado for 10 bucks today...

Im just trying to get the most out of my burger flippin money.

NOTE: i actually work at kfc... where we take pride in knowing that we shorten your life span substantialy. (kinda like OCing)

EDIT: whats a good heatsinkfan/memorysink to get for fairly cheap... noise doesnt really matter.. as long as it cant be hear through the cealing.
Edited by chitocobo on 06/22/04 07:04 PM.

lol, 16yo - PURE NERD!

Regarding your o/c question - What games do you play, becuase i cant see you getting more than 10-15 fps more out of your o/c

My dick is so big, that my dick has a dick. And my dicks' dick is bigger than yours.

I like Riva Tuner as a oc utility. Has good functionality. Some have said that RAM sinks don't help. Just what I heard, don't know if it's true or not. The rated speed of your ram may be a hard ceiling. Even vmods won't overcome slow ram. I wouldn't invest a lot in cooling on that card, because if you watch the Newegg refurb pile, you could probably get a Ti4200 for around $65-it's a refurb, so mileage may vary-just kinda puts a $30 cooling solution in perspective, because the Ti would kill anything the 440 could get to. BTW, what are your stock speeds?

I oc'ed that same card to the max. I can't remember what the numbers were, but that thing can't go much further than it is stock. I even did a volt mod and had extra cooling on their that was pure copper heatsink for a cpu.

A couple og guys here I know have this card and tried overclocking, with very little success, but you never know untill you try your self.

I picked my Ti4200 up on Ebay, upgrade from a GF3Ti200, (which is a great card and will slaughter a MX440.
