Need of help for Athlon Xp 3000+

I am in need of help for overclocking my barton 3000+
I currently cannot get passed: 174fsb 14xMult and Core 1.75V
Just give me some ideas of what to do; even if i may have the locked barton processor(i have tried to unlock it by indenting the bridges that tomshardware tells u to do)

The specs of my system are as follows.....

CPU: Athlon Xp 3000+ (333fsb)
MOTHERBOARD: Asus A7N8X2.0 series (the orginal one 333fsb)
RAM: 1.5GB PC2700 Corsair (3 512 chips)
AGP: Asus Geforce fx5600 256mb ddr
POWER SUPPLY: 520w Aspire
HARDRIVE: Maxtor 30GB 7200 rpm 100 ata
CPU FAN: Thermaltake Volcano 11+
CASE FAN: Over 8 case fans at least
CASE: Raidmax Mirage 278 Gaming Case

You definently need more Vcore to get any higher, your chip's doing very good with only 1.75Vcore going beyond 2.4Ghz, to use higher Vcore, you're gonna get better cooling, than that thermaltake piece of sh*t.

ok i have my computer totally stable at 2.41 ghz with 178 fsb and 13.5mult and 1.75vcore. I have about 40*C cpu temp and like 20 motherboard temp but my asus utility(prove says cpu is at 29 and motherboard is at 13 so.....)Also on my graphic card i dont know what speed to run it at or just leave it at auto in the chipset feature screen?


Volcano 11+ had alot of good reviews at newegg.com and was not that inexpensive.

Cmon peops help me out i wanna get at least 2.5ghz out of this thing.

Give up the gain from 2.4 to 2.5 isn't going to be noticeable.As far as your gfx card goes find a overclocker and see how high you can go before you get artifacts.Don't get a thermaltake peice of crap look at getting something from thermalright or swiftech i dont think the coolermaster hyper 6 fits on a socket A

Newegg reviews? Jesus, the people there are retarded, they don't even know the difference between 2d/3d speeds on a Nvidia card.

Volcano 11+ is a piece of sh*t, compare to the high end thermalright/Swiftech products.

WTF your graphics card speed in the chipset screen? You can't overclock your video card using the bios... You'll need to use third party programs such as Rage3d/Rivatuner.

Ok, now that i know i have a pos fan(even though air cooling isnt worth overclocking much) i have had this problem with my computers ever since i have started building them. During a game or something my computer will sometimes just restart!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? i hate it but now ever since i have been putting in lots of system fans(like 30) i havent had much problems but when i went to overclock to 2.4 and played(rise of nations) my computer restarted again. Plz give me some info. Anyone know the specs on my video card!!!
