Wondering i have the original a7n8x that says maximum bus speed is 333(166) and i go to the website and it says it can go up to 400(200). Plz help me out here; even in my book it says maximum memory and bus speed is 333. I have no clue because if i would have known it can go up to 400 i would have bought the athlon xp 3200 and better ram.

I am clueless

Also on the system automatic shut off i think its gone beyond the severity it should be. My cpu is like 29*c regular but when i get into games it shuts off sometimes i dunno.

Open for suggestions!!!

I believe you needed board revision 1.4 of the original A7N8X to reach the higher speeds.

Version 2.0 shouldn't have any problems with 400MHz bus (200MHz clock).

Go into BIOS and tell us what options you have. Can you raise the FSB manually? Can you up the Vdimm to 2.7 or so?
Fish around and see what's there.

So what's the problem? A lot of DDR-333 can hit DDR-400 speeds. Raise the FSB and hold on to your tallywacker!

You might. Prolly will need to increase vdimm (voltage to ram) and use relaxed timings.

I'd prolly try 'em one at a time to see what each could do individually.

Somebody could give you a better estimate of ur chances if u said what kind of ram. For example, is the corsair xms or value select etc.
