Quick question for you knowledgeable folks:

I’m running an Athlon XP 1900 on a ASUS A7A-266 motherboard. If I just want to overclock my FSB settings from the default 133 to, say, 145, can I do that all from bios without touching the board itself? I have the latest revision (1012), but overclocking the FSB did not work when I tried it.

One thing I think might be responsible is that the BIOS says I have to change my CPU speed to “manual” in order to change FSB speeds (it won’t let me change the CPU multiplier either…).

So – any suggestions? I shouldn’t have to modify my VCore in attempting this right? Am I missing something big? Thanks so much for your time!!

yes, change your CPU speed to manual, and SLOWLY bump up the FSB in 2-5mhz.

Depending on when you bought the CPU, it could be multipler locked.
