Verizon sales rep told me that I can't download pics from my phone
directly to PC and have to pay .25c each time I do this. What the f---
is she talking about? I'm getting a Motorola V265. There is no cable
that I can connect and download directly ??????

Oh, there's probably a cable, but the phone's software doesn't allow it.
You have to phone the picture to verizon's picture place and then
download it to your computer from there. Phoning the picture to picture
place costs a quarter per picture.

When I bought my Verizon LG VX6100 they told me at the store that the
only way to get photos onto the computer was through pix messages, but
there are actually cables for the VX6100. I think they just want you
to use pix messages cuz they make money off it.

Get a cable for $8 shipped off of ebay and download free software at
http://www.bitpim.org/, which should download pics. A bunch of info
about it can be googled.

Around $50. takes 53 640x480 PC-sized pictures at a load. Plug into a USB
port and it downloads to the PC and recharges its Lithium-ion battery,
ready for 53 more pictures. The battery will take about 14 loads of 53
pictures before it really needs to be recharged. It's the size of a credit
card and about 1/8" thick. Fits right in your shirt pocket and is made of
aluminum, not plastic. It slides apart for pictures and closes to protect
the lens which also shuts it off. It shuts itself off if you leave it open
and don't do anything, requiring you to cycle it closed then open to turn
it back on...battery saver.

Just like the phonecam, it's point and click. It is so fast it will stop a
waterfall, freezing the action of the water without blurring. It has no
flash so you need lights to take pictures indoors or at night.

Look over on alt.binaries.pictures.sports.ocean at the three pictures I
just posted taken with this $50 camera. The picture of the gear in the
sailboat was taken with just the light coming in the hatch, no flash. The
waterfall is stopped dead at a local minigolf course. There's some kind of
special automatic light setting it does when you press the button.

Works great. No need to be a slave to some cellphone company hacks. If
you want to send pix to someone, at only 89KB/pix, you can simply email it
to them easy. Phoning pictures is a gimmick!....
