I have read and tried the firewall how-to with Morpheus 4.06. The
info is good, but the example is for a Linksys wireless router. I
tried to use the same info for my Microsoft MN-500 wireless router,
but when I click the link, "You can test if you properly configured
your eDonkey port by clicking this link at the end of the process" to
check to see if I have it right, it times out and says I still don't
have it right.

I can't pretend to know much about networking or wireless networking,
so can someone give me the specific instructions on how to set the
MN-500 to port forward and make Morpheus work correctly?

Below are the instructions that Morpheus gave with the software.

Firewall/Router Info & Configuration

It has become very common for a typical household using broadband to
utilize a router or some type of firewall.
If you're behind a router or other type of firewall you can still use
Morpheus, but you will not be able to download from other firewalled
users and connecting can be slower. This will be especially evident on
networks such as eDonkey. In order to get the most out of your
peer-to-peer experience it is highly recommended you take just a few
moments to properly configure your firewall/router and Morpheus IP and
port configuration settings. Please see the below Q&A for help.

Q. I use a firewall or router, what can I do?
A. If you are using a software firewall such as McAfee or Zone Alarm
be sure Morpheus has access to connect to the internet and act as a
server. Two firewalled users will not be able to download from one
another.
Using a router?* If you use a router (common for DSL and cable) and
want to increase your download and connect success, you can follow the
below generic directions, using the popular Linksys brand router as an
example. This example, should allow you to properly configure your
router no matter the brand. Please consult your router's manual for
further documentation.
*Note: If you are having internet connectivity problems when using
Morpheus, it's recommended you disable the "G2" network from the
Morpheus configuration 'Net' options. Also see the F.A.Q
1) Open a web browser and log into your router configuration panel by
typing in the address http://192.168.1.1, enter your user & password,
and navigate to the section that has to do with forwarding or filter
rules.
With a Linksys, the default user is an empty field and password is
"admin" (you should change this). Now navigate to the orange
"Advanced" button and then finally to the Forwarding tab as shown
below.
• The address above not work? To determine your router's IP to use in
your address browser click here

2) You should now be within your routers Port Forwarding
configuration: enter a 2 port range to forward, specify your local IP,
and click the enable checkbox as shown in the above example. Click
apply to save your settings.
• You can choose any consecutive 2 port range between below 65254 (i.e
5000 to 5001 or 18500 to 18501).
• Not sure what your local IP is? To determine your local IP to use
for the IP address field Click here
2b) Now configure TCP port forwarding for the eDonkey specific port
4662 to dramatically improve your download success on eDonkey results
as well as properly share back.

You can test if you properly configured your eDonkey port by clicking
this link at the end of the process.

3) Now we need to obtain your WAN IP (external IP) that you will need
to enter into the Morpheus configuration. Morpheus by default will
detect this IP and be in a 'greyed' out state, however if configuring
port forwarding you should determine it as follows:
• While still in your Router Configuration Panel, navigate to "Setup"
then to the "Status" tab. There, you'll want to record your WAN IP
Address as shown below...

4) Now there is only one last step to complete the process!
Click on the Morpheus configuration button, and now apply these
settings to the Morpheus Configuration > Local > 'Set incoming port
to' and 'Set Local IP' settings, then click OK to apply these changes
as shown below.
• Local IP settings should match "WAN IP" recorded above is step #3 s
& the incoming port should be the first port you choose above in step
#1.
