Need New Heatsink

I recently upgraded my processor, now running a AMD 2800+ XP. It is running roughly 52° C at idle and 58°-59° C at 100% load. This is a little higher than I would like, case temperature is reading 32° C.

This is what I have currently:

This is what I am looking at:
<A HREF="http://www.coolerguys.com/840556033158.html" target="_new">http://www.coolerguys.com/840556033158.html</A> - CpuMate Heatpipe

I have thought about trying to find a more powerful fan for the Volcano 10+, but can't really find anything decent. If I buy the CpuMate, I am having thoughts of replacing the fan on it even.

Also my motherboard has to have the clip style heatsink. Is weight in issue with motherboards that use these clips? The CpuMate is twice the weight of the Volcano 10+.

Any recommendations? Is there anything better than the CpuMate? I don't particually want to go water cooled, and would like to spend $50 or less for the heatsink. Noise is not an issue, the louder the better ( ).

Note sure if I could use this adapter with my Volcano 10+ or not, wondering if I could rig something up, and use this adapter:

<A HREF="http://www.coolerguys.com/840556017172.html" target="_new">http://www.coolerguys.com/840556017172.html</A>

with this fan:

Anyone messed with this at all, or am I better off to just buy a new heatsink?

I think you should spend a little more and go with the Thermalright products, such as the SLK900A with any quite 92mm fan, or the Swiftech MCX462-V. I doubt if the 2 you're looking at will make a large difference in temp.

Thanks, I will go check them out.

Early today, I bought a giga-byte 3d-cooler pro. Helped by about 1°-2° at idle, but 4°-5° at full load, still only bringing my max temp down to 55°. So I give up at the moment, this is an acceptable temp I guess for 100% load.

Also I cut all the thermal sensors off my case fans and spliced the wires together, forcing the fans to run at max RPMs all the time, the thing is very loud now, but drop my case temp by about 3°

Well just for fun (and for those who thought my case was a little loud), I broke out the sound level meter.

Sitting in the chair, infront of my monitor, noise level: 70 db

Meter three foot from desk: 64 db

Sitting at desk in next room: 58 db (This is from the computer desk in the room next to my desktop, roughly 13-15 feet away, open door)

In the past I was joking about it sounding like a 747, but now maybe there was a little more truth to that than I thought
