Skyrim lag

Hello,
i have just built a new computer and i am experiencing lag issues with skyrim. in genral it runs at 60 fps however when i move the camera or move it will occasionally drop down to about 30 fps and look jerky. the system recommends me to ultra high setting and even on medium i still have the issue and even on low setting i have had some issues rarely. my systems is:

AMD 4.2 ghz quad core

VTX HD 7850 1 Gb

9 Gb DDR3 ram

even with this i am still having the issues. i thought that i may need to upgrade my hard drive which is a 640Gb SATA-2 Western Digital WD6400AAKS 16Mb cache. howvere my laptop is lower spec and it runs skyrim on low without any jerky issues.

if anyone could help solve this i woul be very grateful.

Which AMD CPU do you have? Also your RAM should run in dual channel with matching pairs of RAM which it cannot with 9Gb what sticks do you have? Remove some so they are in identical pairs.

ok so i removed the execess ram stick learned a little about ram on the way lol and tried to use some game boosters however the problem is still persisting even on low game settings

the game runs at a constant 60 fps so long as i dont move or look somewhere else but the second i do it drops fps shortly and then goes back up. once it droped from 60 fps to 20 fps because i turned around

i have literlly no idea how to solve this and i have been and made sure that i have all the latest drivers for my system.

I believe you are not actually getting framerate drops, but rather experiencing the same problem I have with Skyrim.

It tends to jitter when you move the camera, almost like the mouse is locking onto a meshy grid, rather than smoothly moving.

Some people have fixed it by using framerate limiters, but mine never even limited the framerate. I think it might have something to do with the newer version of the game, since the framerate limiter is an old mod.

What fixed it for me was getting a borderless window mod and running the game at my native resolution, but in windowed mode, with no borders. Visually indistinguishable from the regular full-screen game, but it stopped the camera jitters.

Your system shouldn't be lagging on the game though, so this is my best guess.

EDIT: If you are actually seeing proof of framerates dropping to 20, rather than guessing, it might be a different issue. Are you using a monitor, like fraps?

EDIT EDIT: I forgot to mention, I used to play Skyrim with an AMD FX-4100 processor, and I experienced dips in FPS while walking around in Whiterun. Is it happening everywhere, or just cities? And your system should probably just be on high, not ultra. It can technically run on ultra, but high would ensure more reliable FPS, and the visual differences are hard to spot.

the windowed mode was a great call seems to improve the freate rates drop so its not as noticable and yeah i was using fraps.
