How do you stop a directx error when opening games

Hello,
i tried to open lord of the rings but it said must have directX 9 or higher (which i have got) and verify that yourvideo card meets the minimal requirments.

If you are on Steam go to library > Properties > general > set launch options > now type this in: -dxlevel <level>. replace <level> with whatever level you want. Whats your Video card and which LotR game?
