Hey guys.
I've read the guide to Athlon overclocking but i'm still having woes. I bought a pre-built (hand-made) computer that came with an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (barton) that was overclocked to be a 3200+. Well, somehow or another i reformatted several times installed a bunch of new hardware and in the end, the CPU was clocked back to normal (2500+). Now, when I set the FSB back to 400 to make it a 3200, it will boot up and then freeze at a blank screen before windows loads. I've tried increasing the CPU voltage, but nothing helps. I would really like to get this up to a 3200, could someone please help?

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton core)
Albatron K600 Pro
1GB Corsair XMS PC3200 (clocked to PC2700, b/c of current FSB)
120GB Western Digital HDD 7200 rpm
80GB Maxtor HDD 7200 rpm
ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256MB
Antec Truepower 430

What are your memory timings? I have noticed in my BIOS that when I adjust my FSB it changes my memory timings at certain points, if I leave them at these timings my computer doesn't boot.

I found them. No, they didnt seem to change. When i change the FSB, i can still get the CPU to boot, its just that after that when windows should start, it doesnt. The CPU stays on and sounds like its running, but there's nothing on the screen.

You need to raise it back up a little at a time and see what's cooking. You must have somehow defaulted BIOS. That's the only think I can think of. Set your Vcore at 1.7v and start over.
