I just picked up the vx6100 and the future dial data cable. I
was hoing to transfer the phonebook from my vx 4400 to my 6100.
But all I get are error messages. I set the caomputer to com 5
and the phone to com 5 and also tried the auto detect feature in
bitpim version 0.7.15. First I got no port detected errors then
I got something about an error occured from none to brew,
whatever that means.
What version bitpim should I use for win xp and the vx6100.
Will bitpim work with the 6100 phone?
I just noticed the package for the data cable says for model
vx6000. do I need a different cable for the 6100?
I remember having trouble setting it up for the vx4400 phone do
you have any suggestions that would help now.
Thanks for the help.

Use the latest version; I think its up to something like 33.

Does with mine (though I have been unable to use it for the phonebook ever since the bios was upgraded).

I believe so. I think the cable is for the 3200/6100/7000 only.

When they upgrade the bios they put your phonebook back on correct? They did
this with mine and I had the same results. What happens is the program the
use to upload the phone numbers and names corrupts the phonebook and bitpim
will not work. What I did was print everything out and reset the phone and
redo everything through bitpim and it works fine now.

I think i got the wrong cable. Went to rat shck and took what
the guy gave me. It was the cable for the vx6000. According to
hte bitpim help file I should get the cable for the vx7000.
I'll have to look for a store that has it. I would like to
check it out before I buy it. How is that rpi web site? Good
customer service?
