Hi-

I obtained a pentium 233 cpu for my solo 2300 (had a pentium 133). I took it
apart, plopped in the new cpu, buttoned it up, booted up, and was thankful
to see the bios recognize the new cpu.

Then, it all went downhill. The machine freezes after about 1 or 2 minutes
of activity (either while booting into Windows, or while doing scandisk).
One posting I found claimed that the chassis isn't equipped to handle the
heat..

Please tell me this is a voltage/jumper problem, and that I'm not screwed...

It's probably the heat. It could also be the voltage. If the CPU is a mobile
Pentium, I am not familiar with them. But the regular Socket 7 233MHz Pentium
MMX operates at 2.8v, while the 133 operates at 3.3v. If the motherboard can's
support the CPU operating voltage, forget about it... Ben Myers
