hey, i just succeeded in overclocking my xp 2500+ to 3200+. I had to buy a new cooler since the stock cooler wasn't adequate for 3200+. (running over 60C in full load.) Now, my cpu is running at 39C at idle, 45C at normal and 51C at full load(Doom3) I'm using Vantec Aeroflow, and i must say that this cooler really rocks. It lowerd the cpu tem by more than 10C. (with a bit of help from artic silver thermal paste :) )

AMD XP 2500+ and Asus nforce2 dx
cpu FSB: 200Mhz
multiplier: 11

mem freq: 200Mhz (OCZ PC3200 Plantinum EB)
: 8-2-3-2.5

VCore: 1.7

I noticed that the actual VCore is around 1.73-1.75 in my asus probe. well, guess my PSU just sucks :p

I'm thinkg about overclocking more ... maybe up to 222Mhz? (222Mhz FSB x 11 multiplier) with VCore 1.725 ... hmph. I guess i can overclock OCZ mem to 222Mhz after incrementing dimm voltage to 2.7V (2.6V at default)

any comment?

Might not be your psu. Don't know about asus, but pretty much all abit's w/the nForce chipset will undervolt vcore. Doesn't matter what psu you have.

Umm, actually you don't want to go past 1.8 on an XP chip. I don't think I would go past 1.75. 1.7 should be a increase in Vcore, not a decrease.

I overclocked my 2500+ to 3200+ on a Shuttle AN35N Ultra using a $7.99 Speeze Falconrock from newegg.

What was used to program a programming program?

1.825 VCore is within the range of being OK, especially with good cooling, or so I have read... many people are pushing the mobile CPUs even higher...

I've got the same board and chip. You should know that the asus probe is considered by most to be very inacurate. you might want to check the bios or get motherboard monitor for more accurate information. Nice oc though

Asus just plain sucks when it comes to voltage regulation.
