Hi Guys,

I have installed Far Cry 3 on the following configuration:

CPU:Intel i7 3820
GPU:Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Vapor-X 3 GB Edition
RAM: G.Skill 8 GB 1600 MHz
PSU: Sea sonic X series 850W Gold
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit

Could you please suggest best video settings for the game. Especially what should I select for V-Sync there are 2 options 1 & 2 frames. For 1 frame I don't get constant 60 FPS it varies between 45-60 (This makes gameplay choppy)If select 2 frames then I get 30 FPS constant; I am on Catalyst 13.1 Driver also installed 12.11 CAP.

Just leave vsync off and set your graphics like this:

Details: Ultra
MSAA: 4x
Directx: 11
Ambient occlusion: HDAO

It will be the best settings for your GPU.

^+1....
all ultra and multisampling set to 4x
thats an awesome rig brother....
but i d say that u should have gotten yourself a gtx 680 coz its a bit faster and nvidia rules with its two beasts namely the gtx 680 and 690.....

even the driver support from nvidia is waaaaay better...
but still.....every title out there ,at ultra preset ,awaits you....lol

from what i noticed AMD claims the performenc improves with the new drivers but that's not what i noticed when i install the new Drivers my preformance drops really hard but when i re-install the drivers that came with the card i get 50 FPS with ultra settings at 4 MSAA and so i suggest rolling back :)

Thanks but i am concerned about screen tearing which holding me back from turning V-sync off. Did you try the game without V-sync?

Thanks armageddon0 for your suggestion that I should have bought GTX 680....I was actually confused between Sapphire 7970 and Zotac GTX 680 however decided to go with 7970 due to its 384 bit memory which matters in games like Crysis and all other high graphics games. GTX 680 is still an awesome card to go with due to Nvidia's better driver support.
