I like cool cpus. I like to keep mine as close to 30 C as i can. Now if my cpu gets to 45 or higher, i get freaked. Am i deluded or is it normal to be worried at these temperatures? Ok, with that aside, i am getting a P4 3.2 Ghz (socket775) and i am looking for the best cooling solution. I have seen MANY heatsinks and stuff reviewed, and keeping 2.8ghz cpus at 40 C and stuff, but i will have a 3.2 Ghz. What is the best cooling solution i can go for? I do not want to shell out for compressor (!!!!) or even watercooling, just traditional cooling.

Thanks

You are worrying to much about your temperatures. Anything below 60° C is fine. Anything below 50° C is great. To keep a 3.2 at 30° C pretty much your only choice will be water cooling. To achieve low temps on air cooling (at least as cool as you are thinking), you are going to need a monstrous heatsink, and the noise level will be similar to a 747.

I'm the same way... I start goin crazy when my temps go over 30C. I built a crazy liquid cooling system to suplement my need :)
