I am lagging while playing any pc games

Whenever i play a game it starts lagging.. Usually i play Silkroad Online and Dota2 there Screen starts lagging i dont know why is it lagging some 1 help me .... but earlier it never used to get lag am getting this problem since 2-1/2 month

Processor- Inter(R) Core((TM)2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66Ghz
System type- 64-bit Operating System
Ram-3GB
Grapic card- nvidia 512MB 8th series 8400GS!!

Um lower graphics settings. That card is old.. like really really old. Not meant for gaming in the slightest it was replaced by the GT610 and GT630 which are almost 2x better.
