Hi,
I use SonicWall Pro at work, and connect from home using the SonicWall
VPN client.
I have the basic (free) version of ZoneAlarm, and am unable to connect
when ZoneAlarm is running. I get the username / password screen, but
the connection fails after this.
In the log viewer, I see this error:
recv fail -1 err 10040 2738
I have set the firewall IP address to be in the trusted zone, and
there are no programs set in ZoneAlarm to deny access (many set to
ask).
As soon as I disable the firewall, reactivate the security policy, the
VPN successfully connects. At this point, I can even restart the
firewall and the VPN connection is not dropped.
There must be some configuration I'm missing in the firewall, or maybe
the zonealarm free version doesn't give enough control to allow VPN
connections?
