I was considering buying Crysis 3.
Yea there are websites and system requirement info and approximations , etc. but I want to hear personal experience.
I have a 590 , 8 gigs ram and an i5 3570K

Does anyone have a setup somewhat similar to this? If so then what kind of framerates are you getting at what settings?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Do not worry about the settings. Even on the lowest settings, the game looks awesome.

Your CPU will take care of the game at 1080p alright. Your GPU too is at the higher end, and so you will be able to put the game to the highest, and yet get 40 to 50 fps, on average.

And, you can always lower down the settings and get great frame-rates, if you wish.
There's word that the single player of the game is poorly optimized [I do not know, it used all the 8 threads of those AMD CPUs the best till date], but hopefully issues will be sorted with driver updates from N-Vidia, and game updates from EA.

Im having the exact same problem, the fps just dies when i get to different places. The problem i think here is the drivers... Hope it gets fixed soon because its unplayable

*avg fps - 60-75
*lag fps - 2-20

Thats only because everyone is currently googling 'Crysis fps issues' instead of playing it :p
It seems to be more important that you are running maxed at 60fps than it is to be enjoying the game,
Crysis tends to bring out the elitist in folks I've noticed, they can happily play on a console for hours with no problem, but if the Fps on Crysis PC drops below 120,000 they get migraines, their eyes implode and its just not bearable :p
Its part of the Crysis legacy I guess hehe

Hey!
I have an i3 with 4 Gigs of ram and I have a GTX 560 Ti. on max settings I get around 30-60 Fps. It keeps fluctuating. on low I get more than 60 fps.
I recommend buying it

There are a lot of optimization problems in certain areas of C3. for me in MP (more fps in MP in this game) i get 60-80fps with high - ultra with smaa x2 / antistropic filter x16 / v-sync off ofcourse / low motion blur / lensflares ON @ 1920 x 1080p.

If you cant run the game on higher system specs, then i honestly think its a very strange optimization issue.

Ive read LOADS of people with 680's only playing this game on low settings WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm running at 60-75fps baseline with 2 Gigabyte 7850's (2GB) xfired, an FX-8350 oc'd to 4.6ghz and 16gb of 1600mhz ram. I never drop below 45fps in any area using 13.2 BETA drivers, my rig easily handles this game in the very highest settings, Xfire is really scaling well, my buddy with 2 660tis can't compete with the fps I'm getting with these settings (optimization issues I presume). I'm very happy and impressed.

My buddy with 2 660tis cant run this game over medium settings without dropping below 15fps, its an optimization issue. The game was optimized for AMD hardware at least from what I've seen on forums, many Nvidia cards are having a tougher time, new drivers will probably patch it up. Like I said my friend running SLI won't even play Crysis 3 until it is better optimized.

Yea, I've been reading alot of forums today and you seem to be right. So many variables to consider with any one person's system it can be tough to figure out why things are not running the way they should. I'm sure with a little time we will see some improvement in drivers and possibly patches from EA as well. For now though I guess hold on tight and play the games you still enjoy and keep your eyes on forums and you may just find your fix. Goodluck everyone

On my Dual Core E7500 I am getting 40 to 50 FPS indoors, 30 to 35 outdoor, regardless of resolution [Yes, CPU Usage is 100% on both cores]. However at places where objects of the surroundings move, fps drops drastically. The grass for example. In those places fps drops to as low as 10 fps.
The game is extremely CPU Dependent.
On 3632QM i7, it ran at 150 FPS with all graphics settings set to low, while I was playing online.

GPU wise, I found my GTX 550 Ti handle the game pretty well. Even at highest settings with AA to FXAA at HD Resolution. So older cards meant for HD gaming won't see trouble in playing the game.

it is very cpu intensive.. you cant expect more out of the game with a dual core though
