I have a Gigabyte 7N400Pro2 Rev2 board, my board sees my 2800+ XP chip as a 3200+ XP when I am near 3200 speeds. Anything faster, just appears as the mhz. My 2800+ XP runs 2500 mhz (well past 3200 speeds), at 200 fsb, with the vcore at a very solid 1.8. My 2800+ runs "stable enough," at 2600 mhz, on air cooling (stable enough meaning, the computer is usable, but has no hope of running Prime95).
As mentioned before your multiplier is locked, so you will only be able to change the FSB.
My signature has a link, at the bottom of the page is a link to my benchmarks, you can see my scores to give you an ideal on what to expect.
