Installation of printer

please l have DESKJET 840C PRINTER and after installation to my laptop window 7,with the CD it will be showing error please what do l do to be able to install it

You might try disconnecting the USB, delete the printer from the printer list, and reconnect the USB cable.

this should prompt Windows 7 to reinstall the drivers.
