As i have seen from http://www6.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20030429/index.html i can make a p4 northwood 3.0 ghz fsb800 to run at 200 mhz with this mobo (asus p4g8x deluxe) although it is not officially supported by the e7205. I tried it with a p4 northwood 3.0 ghz fsb 800 and 4 twinmos pc3200 512mb ram modules but i could not make the fsb run higher than 170 mhz. Although the mobo is not overheated (no more than 32C on the mobo and 37C on cpu) and the cpu is recognized the system hangs or sometimes not boot! Why is that? I have the latest bios version for this mobo (1006)!

it is likely that when plugged into that mobo the cpu multiplier sets itself to a higher multiplier namely 23 (if i'm not mistaken thats the multiplier for the 3,066ghz version of the PIV that operates at 133 FSB) This is because the stock fsb speed for the mobo is 133 and it is set automatically to 133 fsb and hence 23 multiplier to reach 3GHZ. So if I were you I would check the cpu multiplier and make sure it is set to 18. Although at 170FSB your cpu would be running at 3,9ghz and your ram would be seriously overclocked so this may not be plausible given your ram.
