I purchased a i700 via Amazon for an amazing price of 199, with a 39/mo
plan. Now I get my second bill, and they have begun charging me for
data, which I don't have a plan for. Appairently the i700 is "always
on" and will hit you with a 48/mo bill regardless of if you use it or
not.

Anyone have a way of disabling "always on" on smart phones?

There's go to be a way to turn off the data connection.
I don't know about the i700 but there has to be a way
to misconfigure the connection parameters -- number,
modem string, password, etc.

Yes, I agree I didn't read the 15 page contract. On the other hand,
I'm chalking this up to experience. No longer will I lock myself into
any contract with any cell phone company. I am now using a prepaid
plan, and will save lots of money. (I never used the quantity of
minutes alotted by the contract).
