It seem when every holiday comes around, this questions comes up, so
I'll answer it now and save a couple of you the trouble of asking.

If you get free holiday minutes as part of your plan, then YES, calls
on July 4th will be billed as OFF PEAK.

Enjoy!

Yes. I'd called Verizon tech support the other day regarding another
issue, and I happened to ask about that. 7/4 is a freebie. IMO, such
dates should be mentioned on the website in the explanation of Peak
and Off-Peak.

Your thought was nice, but no body has a plan that clearly states that they
have holiday minutes. But if you are talking about nights and weekends
which are fully disclosed: Yes, if your plan allows for free calling on
weekends, then yes, July 4th is considered a "weekend" or holiday day.

If you don't mind, I renamed the subject, so no one will have to read the
post to get the jest. Yes, July 4th is considered a weekend. Your thought
was perfect, and I hope you don't mind my intended improvement. dr

I beleive you are slightly incorrect.

Holidays are considered "nights". Most newer plans include free nights
and weekends, so holidays are free. Some older plans only include free
weekends (and not nights), and in those plans holidays are not free.

Actually I believe it will show up as off-peak.

Yes, you are correct: It shows up as off-peak, and if you dial *611 during
the long wait, they will tell you that as well. Yup,
