No Sound in Skyrim

So I recently installed Skyrim and the HD Texture pack DLC from Bethesda and when I went to go play Skyrim, I had no sound coming from the game. Not even the drums during the Bethesda logo. I tried googling this problem, but everyone had the drums from the bethesda logo and Realtek Audio drivers. I have a Creative Sound Blaster Z with the Creative Sound Blaster Audio Drivers, all of which are up to date.

I tried reinstalling DirectX and verifying the game cache in Steam as well as a myriad of audio settings to try and get the sound to work.

Update, I also do not get sound in Bastion, that I also run through steam. but when I got it to work, Metro 2033 had sound.
