Same question different way of asking

I am looking into a new MB/CPU combo and have received advice on this site that a Asus K8N and a A64 or Sempron 2800+ would be a good find within my budget. It looks like the latter combo provides a suggested speed of 1.8GHZ. I would like to get to 2.0GHZ. Has there been anyone who has overclocked this combo and seen it be stable?

Any other input would be appreciated.

The 2800+ has no problem hitting 2.2Ghz, but a divider on the ram is required. The board is decent, even though i personally would look elsewhere.

I would like to hear your suggestions. I am new to the idea of OCing, but am looking to learn more. I am not stuck on one board or CPU, just a budget and a goal of 2.0 GHZ or better.

I'd go with the GAK8NS, but some people might disagree with me, like i said either board will reach the 2.2Ghz mark, and i would highly recommend the A64 over the Sempron. Just get generic ram and use a divider, you'll see what i'm talking about once you see your bios.

Is this ratio set in the BIOS or is there hardware or software to be purchased? Forgive my ingnorance, I'm not sure what we're talking about.
