Well I Oc'd My Athlon 64 3000+ (S939) to 2.6G using the stock heatsink and fan and it runs prime95 stable @ 42 degrees full load and 37 degrees in low load... ( you can see the Temps on my taskbar on the screenies)

I just find this really odd, the side of my case is just open but everything else is stock cooling.... Is this common or did i just happend to get a really good chip?

Im running on a Asus A8N SLI Deluxe,Enermax 460 Watt PSU....

My memory timings and info are on the screenies... I decided to run a few benches, what do you guys think?
Pretty crazy results.... I cant really Improve the memory timings any better too much or it gets unstable, I have HyperTransport at 5, If you guys have some tips, I'll see if i can get this running better, so suggestions are very welcome. One problem that I ran into was that the mobo's Bio's was very very bad when you try to Oc... There were lots of problems but once I updated to the latest revision I overclocked fine.

Im just so surprised that I got this result, Im still in shock...

Enjoy :) (It doubled some of the links for some reason.... sorry)

You've got quite a lot of voltage going through that. I've not been brave enough to go that high.

Mine does 2.6Ghz on the stock cooler too, but it doesn't always boot when I set HT to 260, so I run at 2.5.

A few people have had a bit of a lemon winnie, but on the whole they seem to oc very well and stay nice and cool.

I've got a XP-120 on there now, so my load temp is only around 40C. (with a reasonably warm ambient temp.)

Great chips, but they aren't half fussy about the RAM.

And even then couldn't get past 2.45Ghz?

That's some crappy luck for sure.

Couldn't get it any further, but I've managed to lower it all the way down to 1.58 / 1.6. Im just stability testing atm, this chip has by no means been let off the hook for the poor o/c

HT freq really makes no difference, turn it down to 3 and bench again you'll see no performance difference. It seems that tightest timing doesn't mean best performance, read anandtech results, I forgot I think on Nforce3 it was 2.5-4-4-10, and Nforce4 was something like 2.5-3-3-8, can't recall exactly. But pretty damn good results. You should prommy it and see how high you can take that chip, I took mine to 2.9:D but had to freeze it and with 1.9Vcore
