On another board a poster informed me that my current system is a good overclocker:

Antec True Power 430W
Abit NF7-S
Barton 2500+
2x512 Samsung PC2700 Ram

I've got some questions in no particular order:

1. I've been told I can easily hit 2.2GHz (200x11). I'm assuming that means overclocking the FSB from stock 166MHz to 200MHz, correct?

2. Doing this will also theoretically overclock my PC2700 memory from 166MHz to 200MHz, correct? Now I know I can run FSB and Memory asynchronously, but can I buy some PC3200 ram, run it at 166MHz (1:1) pre-OC and then 'overclock' it back to 200MHz along with the FSB? If this is possible, will any old PC3200 memory do? Newegg has what seems to be a good deal here: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=20-220-027&DEPA=0

3. Will my AGP and PCI bus be overclocked as well?

4. Is stock cooling sufficient for this OC attempt?

5. Don't worry, I will not be overclocking ANYTHING until I know exactly what I am doing (any step by step manuals out there?). But I wanted to make sure I had the proper materials and setup before I started.

Thanks!

1. Not easily, depends on which barton core you got, some of the later cores is actually impossible to hit 2.2Ghz

2. Samsung PC2700 ram with 2.7v will overclock to 3200(200mhz) speeds no problem

3. Your board can lock AGP/PCI freq at 66/33

4. That depends on what revision of core you got

Some PC3200 is too slow to handle PC3200 speed on some chipsets, such as your nForce2 and Intel's 875P.

If you have to change the ratio on 32bit amd rigs then its a waste of time. Go get some decent pc3200 ram, Newegg is selling a gig of corsair value for under $100 and keep the ration at 1:1.

This depends if you have to crank the juice up. Those HSF are the same from 2500 to 3200, just the 3200 has been rated to do more at less juice. If you can get to 3200 without changing the juice then you should be fine with stock HSF, as long your room is no higher than 75f, BUT if you have to crank the juice (Vcore) by any amount, you will most likely have to invest in better cooling solutions.
