does anyone know how many fans you could connect to one molex? i would rather keep most molex free if i can so i`m going to christmas tree about 5-6 fans on one line i`m assuming this will be ok the molex should put out what like 20-30 watts?

are you going to bark all day little doggie?
or are you going to bite?

More about : fans molex

Should be fine - each line can probably handle more standard fans than you can fit into a case.

I highly doubt if there's any problem even if you connected 30 normal casefans as long as your power supply can pump the juice. But if you have Deltas on the line I don't know, i wouldn't go beyond 7 or 8.

the reason i`m bringing this up is i wanna free up as many molex as possible. Intel and nvidia are requiring 150w for the new pci-e and no current psu puts out this much, at least any i know of. i figure 2 molex connected to the pci-e would be capable of this and considering i have a sli board i`m going to need 4 molex in the future.
the pci-e connector i have now puts out 75 watts so i`ll be good at least until the new cards come out.

i connected 6 80mm fans into one molex, ran fine, but i dont recommend it because even those "near silent" fans made my old pc seem like a wind tunnel, luckly my p4e died so i got a64 and have no heat issue anymore ;)
