asus a8n sli deluxe
amd 64 3200+ 939 90nm winchester core
wd raptor 74gb
silverstone sst tj06
corsair xms twinx 1024-3200xl
gigabyte geforce 6600gt

how do you guys think this system will oc?
i think i can get to 2.5ghz

Can i buy those temjin06 120mm fans off of ya?! please please please?

Anyways depending on your CPU, i know some newer ones that doesn't go past 2.2Ghz, if your CPU is good then you can handle 2.4-2.6

My 3000+ on a similar system minus the ram (tccd chips here), hit close to 2.5, and 2.4 benched fine with pcmark, on an xp90 with a 92mm fan. I run it constantly at 2.1 @ 1:1 235. 2.5 3 3 7 11 16. I could bring those timings down a little, but i don't imagine it's worth the effort. The board maxes out at 250 @ 1:1 and i couldn't get it to hit higher than 269 @ 200:166. The ram is capable of hitting 300. =/

Current machines running F@H:
AMD: [64 3500+][64 3000+][2500+][2000+][1.3x1][366]
Intel: [X 3.0x3][P4 3.0x2][P4 2.4x5][P4 1.4]

so i should get to 2.3 or 2.4 with no problem at all i would think. Are you using 90nm?
are you using asus sli a8n? i heard this mb is not good for OC? What do you think of the ram i`m using? And i`m going to use the stock cooling only because i bought the silverstone sst-tj06 which has a windtunnel so i don`t think an elaborate cooling system is needed. I actually think the fan on the cpu might interfere with the tunnel and was considering a large passive design.
what do u think?

try newegg.com i believe i saw the same exact fans there
whats so great about these fans anyway? (my system is not built yet)
and where are you going to put 2 more anyway?
i guess you can cut out the floppy cage and put one there
one at the bottom of the 5.25 bays and maybe one at the back of the hdd cage if you cut a hole through the back.

i`m surprised your clips are still intact
the plastic is so brittle. besides that and the cheap rails this case is pretty good but i think a little pricey.

i hope not
i never OC`d before
i think i`ll let the MB do the auto 10% and see how stable it is, then if its good i`ll raise fsb and voltage.
i`ll have to read all the faqs though i`m really not to sure how to do any of this

if you've already bought the a8n-sli, you missed your boat because it has shown to be a poor overclocker with even the best ram. if you did, then i would go out and buy a thermaltake pipe101 diy cooler, slap a 92mm fan on it, and try to fit it into taht wind tunnel. it will give you the best airflow and cooling you can get with that board. for your oc, i would try to bring you multilier down to 9, oc your RAM to ddr500 with 3-3-3-7 timings and 2.85 volts (all available options in the bios), and run at 2.25ghz you should be plenty stable with that much cooling. if you want to try for anything higher, all you have to do is set your multilier back up to 10 and reduce the mem a bit at tighter timings. you shouldnt really go any higher than 2.5 for regular usage tho.

Sorry i forgot to respond...

a8n-sli deluxe v.1006
3000+ 90nm Winn Currently @ 2.1 1:1 235fsb 2.5 3 3 7 11 16(will hold 2 3 3, but only with the v. up)
Patriot TCCD
XP90 w/92mm no name fan (or my 92mm tornado when i start to be able to hear again...).

Every cpu is different...you might be able to take that cpu up a good ways, or you might not. Good Luck.

edit: oc'n on this board isn't very good...as someone else already said. 1:1 you probably won't go higher than 250 and 269 with dividers set to 200:166. =/ I couldn't hit 250 for more than a couple of seconds in win xp. Crashed b4 i could get a screen shot off. 245 is the highest i could hit stable. 245x10 2450mhz (HT 4x)top speed for you then at 1:1. You can hit higher, up to 269x10 2690 (HT 3x)if you go 200:166, if your chip can take that...

B4 considering OC'n this computer, i hope you've considered that oc'n (too far...to the point of crashing your system) makes your computer suseptable to loss of information/data. If you haven't already done so, i'd look through other posts, and at as many faq's as you can get your grubby lil' paws on. As always, the best way to learn is to jump in n' burn out a couple of things...ie through complete failure. From then on, you're much more careful, and treat the equipment with more respect (at least when you can't afford to go out and buy new supplies every couple of days...grr). =D

yeah i`m screwed the mb is on its way
i should get it on monday
my first intention was not to OC but when i saw everyone was OCing their 3200+ to 2.6 i was like fx-55 here we come.
i did get very very good memory though so even if i can`t OC too much the memory should speed me up a bit, its corsair xms twinx 1024-3200xl cas 2225 and i think this is actually like ddr 500 but they slowed it down to get better timings.

yeah i think your right especially since this board is so tempermental i think i`ll just let the bios OC by 10% and leave it at that, when i need more power i`ll upgrade my cpu or get another video card my original plan for buying this sli mb, probably cost me less in the long run - i`m sure i am going to fry some cpu if i try to oc. I`ve got no patience.

This CPU Mobo combo will not OC. Im afraid that it will not even run at the rated speed. Sorry
