I have an Athlon XP 3000+ with and Asus A7N8X-E (BIOS Ver. 1103) with 2Gig/333Mhz Mushkin (chip ID is AXDA3000DKV4D, so I presume it is a Barton)

I want to oc it by this method: http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030210/barton-06.html

Has anyone made this work with this Asus MB?

Thank you much.

So if the chip _is_ locked do I then follow the instructions on the "A newbie’s guide to Overclocking an Athlon XP CPU" post?

What do you think is the most I can get out of it with the memory configuration (PC2700/333) that I have? Is it even worth oc-ing?

What do you mean by further 'work' on the chip?

Thanks.
Edited by mikec101 on 04/16/05 03:56 AM.

Thanks wusy

The jumper is something i'm not ready to try.

Do you think I can get anything more out of it through bios? Can you direct somewhere where I can see a step-by-step procedure on how to get the most out of what I have?

I don't know the sequence to try - the fsb first, the mem first, etc.

Thank you
