So I bought a new PC, here are the specs: A64 3200+ Winnie, DFI nForce 4 Ultra D, 1GB Geil PC4000, ATI X800XL, Seagate 160GB IDE, NEC 3520a...

The manual says that the RAM should be put into DIMMS 2 & 4. When one of the GEIL sticks is in, Prime95 works. When two sticks are in, Prime95 doesnt work, it never gets past the first test. Also, I can OC either. The system wont boot past 209MHz FSB... The RAM voltage rating is 2.6V-3.1V and I set it at 2.8. What should i do? I have also bumped up the CPU voltage to 1.5V from 1.36V, but that didn't help.

Thank you so much. Even though this is bad, at least I have an answer for my problem. What about OCZ Value VX? They are only $105 at newegg.

One more question...How come with one dimm Prime 95 works, but with two it doesnt?

It is 55% more expensive. All I want is stable RAM that will work with my MB. I aslo wnat to OC to 2.4GHz or 240x10. OCZ Value VX dhould be able to reach that at aroun 3.3V. I still have a question for you. Why does the system work when only one dimm is installed? When there are two, Prime95 hangs...

I posted elsewhere but thought I'd ask again here. I ordered the OCX Dual Channel Gold PC4000vx (2x512) for the same DFI board in this discussion. The manufacturer doesn't say this memory is supported but it is on the FAQ page and they say how to get the board to run with it. So is this good memory for the DFI or should I send it back for PC3200? Thanks

I just bought a DFI UT Ultra- D and according to the many OCers I've talked to, the best RAM for this board is the Crucial Ballistix PC4000 2x1Gb RAM (which I just ordred yesterday). Over at ABXZone.com they have an extensive DFI Overclocking thread which has everything you could possibly need or want to know. Check it out.

Crucial Ballistix will have the highest OC for a 2GB kit....yes
but it wont have the higest OC for a 1GB kit...not even close
And a 1GB kit at 310FSB at 3-4-4-10 is going to be equal to 260fsb at 2-2-2-5

The reviews Anandtech did a long time ago about all this ram when it was first comming out showed this to be true several times....
