I was wondering what kind of options I have open with a peltier. I heard some use liquid cooling with a peltier on the radiator, other will just peltier their components directly. I just need to know what kind of power each requires and the performance to price ratio in the respect of each.

I was thinking this could be after I get some water cooling and need room for more performance. And do people actually use the performance that is put out by using the peltier on a daily basis.

850mhz... How fast are you?

Just peltier on the radiator, yes there is a decent performance difference if you use big wattage ones, such as the 226watt, but it's kinda hard to cool, i'm using a modified SLK900U with a 120mm Coolermaster fan, and the heatsink is always burning hot.

You will get better performance with a peltier waterblock, but i recommend you buying a premade one from Swiftech, their blocks are pretty nice and they use high quality peltiers that don't die easily. And as wusy mentioned, insulation can be a b*tch.
