Setup:
P4 3.4Ghz EE 800Mhz FSB
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
2 Corsair TWINX 512MB 500Mhz (1GB)
2 Corsair TWINX 256MB 500Mhz (512MB)
ATI 800 XT Platinum Pro (AGP)
Koolance water cooled (CPU only)
Antec TruePower 550 Watt PS

I've successfully overclocked the FSB to 222 Mhz (888Mhz) which brings my RAM to 444 Mhz, CPU at 3.7Ghz. If I try to increase the FSB beyond 222Mhz, my system will fail 3DBenchMark2003. CPU temps are still below 100 degrees F, so I'm assuming either the chipset or memory is the limiting factor. I've added a fan to the chipset heat sink, but was wondering if I should go with a chipset water block? I'm a little concerned about cooling potential by doing both CPU and chipset.

Rob.

P.S. I have not adjusted voltage at all (auto)

The chipset is probably blazing hot, I'm fairly certain my P4C800-E had a passive chipset cooler, and those rely on the CPU fan to circulate air around them!

Yes it comes stock with a passive heat sink, I've since added a small fan as I was seeing temps in 150+ degrees F range -- so I'm sure the chipset is a good candidate for water cooling.

However, my problem is the heat sink is pressed on with clips that hold it down -- no screw holes?? So it looks like I'm going to have to figure out a way to fab an adapter -- unless someone knows where adapters might exist for this MB??

Thanks, Rob.

I'm fairly certain the board has wire loops soldered into it that the heatsink clips onto, I'm not certain what chipset coolers have brackets to use those loops.

The VRM probably also relise on the CPU fan to keep the MOSFETs cool.

I use a Koolance block to liquid cool my NB.

Yeah that is the problem, I can't find anyone with a waterblock adapter that works with those loops on the Asus P4C800-E.

Really? That's probably the most common mounting type for current boards, I'm surprized no manufacturer has catered to it yet!

If you find a place, please let me know -- they all seem to want screw mountings.
