This just doesn't make any sense to me. Here's what happenin. I had an A8V from Asus, BIOS is picky and has the boot failure problem, went to update BIOS to fix problem, said successfully flashed, restart, BIOS dead for second time. Don't feel like RMA'ing AGAIN or buying ANOTHER bios chip. So bought DFI lanparty UT Ultra D since Nforce 3's oc well. Got board, pissed off cause it took me a while to figure out that the manual is wrong about memory and that the channels go 1,3,2,4 instead of 1,2,3,4. Anyhow, i can't oc very well at all. I dunno why, have the newest 705 BIOS. Rrunnin 1GB OCZ PC4000 Gold Rev 2, 2.5-3-3-8 dual channel(2x512). A64 3200 Winnie. Here's my problem. The system does some wird stuff when i go past 235 fsb on 1:1. I've never heard of this, but it will get to the windows load screen and just sit there the HD activity led either stay off or on but its not running or loading, and the bar is moving accrost the screen. That or it freezes up before it gets there. Now is the even more strange part(bad english). On my A8V i could get to 2.45 stable with a 3:2 divider on 1.525 vcore, now it freezes up on anything past 2.37 even with the divider. WTF!!!! This doesn't make any sense, if i had a dud ocer the CPU should still OC the same, but nooo. I have an OCZ PowerStream 520w, audigy 2, BFG GF6800 GT OCed to 400/1100 and a Seagate Baracuda 120 GB Sata HD running on SATA channel 1.

Asus A8V Deluxe(rev. 2.00) / A64 3200 (winchester) / 1024mb OCZ DDR500 (2.5-3-3-8) / BFG 6800GT@stock / Baracuda 120GB / Lian-Li PC-65 / Syncmaster 700NF / OCZ Power Stream 520

ok, so lots of voerclocked stuff but no mention of how it's cooled. IF you don't have the proper cooling on the chips, they'll stop working. For instance, are you cooling your northbridge chip? How about your case, what type of airflow is moving through it? If you are overclocking then cooling is a must. I burnt up two video cards at LAN parties due to inadequte cooling. Good luck

Plenty of cooling, Lian-Li PC65 case with 2 intake, 2 exhaust and i have NVsilencer 5 R2 which exhausts GPU heat out the bac k of the case. Stock cooler. I got it to work. Its the voltages, when i set it to 1.525v it wasn't really at 1.525, it was substantially lower. Their voltage system is really wierd, but it works when when you figure it out. That is what I LOVE about Asus, they have awesome documentation and general board quality, but they didn't make a NF3 Ultra board for some reason, and i have an AGP vid card, so i couldn't go NF4 without getting a new card. Poopy!!! Anyhow, i got it running perfectly at 2.513GHz 1:1 on 1.520 vcore and 2.8 mem. Ran for 19 hours straight on prime and 8 hours of BF2 without one problem except for that damn occasional pausing glitch it has when ocing my card, it really sucks!! I wish there was a way to fix it, my card is factory oced to 370, so even at default with APG fastwrites enabled it glitches.
