Has anybody any experience with Outpost Firewall? It seems to be pretty
good. Am I right or wrong ? I'd like to get a better feel for it before
considering buying the full version.

Thanks

I've been using it since version 1.0 was in beta (the current version is
2.1). I find it suits my needs quite well.

Why not download the 30-day trial version from www.agnitum.com and see
for yourself if you like it? There's also a free version of Outpost
(version 1.0) that you can use indefinitely, if you don't want to pay for
the Pro version.

There are user-moderated forums for the Outpost firewall at
www.outpostfirewall.com; I'm one of the mods there. If you have
questions about the program, a search of those forums will almost
certainly net you a good answer.

Thanks for the reply here; and just fyi, I *hate* web-based forums. Don't
know if you could convince the makers of Outpost to start their own news
group, but if so, they still could provide a link to a web-based interface
to it for those that prefer that.

They're not for everybody, but they're far easier to administer than a
newsgroup - they don't have problems with spam.

Honestly, I don't think that the Outpost forums are going to change much.
There are hundreds of people that use the web-based forums, and there
have been VERY few (no more than a couple) people requesting a newsgroup
as an alternative.

That said, if you're a paid user of Outpost, you can obtain support
direct from Agnitum; the web-based forums are user-operated and offer
support to all Outpost users (including users of the free version).

When did Agnitum start actually responding to customer inquiries?
