For some reason, when I change my timing from 1T to 2T, it doesn't change. I have the liberty to choose from auto, 1t and 2t. It always displays 1T no matter what settings I choose. Why would this happen? I used to be able to have it on 2T.
In order to push the frequency higher, I need that 2T for relaxed timings. Without it, my computer crashes under load.
Why would it not allow those timings? I restore bios to original settings and change the time to 2t and it still registers as 1t when computer restarts and shows bios screen. (3-3-3-8 1T @ 250Mhz X11)
Ok that seems to make more sense as I read up on-line. I just want to push my memory as far as it goes. I don't think it can go past 250 ... any suggestions?
Well I guess I'm pretty good with this overclock:
Athlon 64 3700+ Sandy @ 2807mhz vcore @ 1.57v
HTTlink 3x
DFI LANparty SLI-DR Mobo
Crucial Ballistix PC3200 (255x11) @ 2.9v 3-3-3-8 1T
Idle 30*C Load 43*C
Can this get better or no?
It might be able to be higher...Do you know what that ballistic ram is rated to? Have you checked out what other people are getting with that ram?
After checking in to that, you'll have a better idea of what your system is capable of. Coming to us, we can give you general guidelines for different kinds of ram, but always the best advice comes from someone who has actually used your specific ram and OC'd with it.
Well My computer seems rather stable except for the fact that It can't survive prime95 for more than 10 minutes. It scores 26:23 on superpi 32m. Is this thing stable enough to do most applications and games? or will it turn off occasionaly due to its instability? Is prime95 a practicle application considering no typical program stresses the computer as much as it does?
Well I think I'm STABLE at 2.8ghz. I am using the 5/6 ram divider at 255x11 (2.9v). The HTTlink is set to 3x so that I don't exceed 1ghz. Is there a perfomance hit for it being at 765 mhz? So far I can last 1 hour in prime95 and haven't tried longer. At 260x11 I can't pass it for 15 minutes no matter what. I think this is the higest I can go. What do you think?
Yeah I figured there would be some leftovers but I don't want to delve into that area yet. As for the proccessor being at 2.8ghz, should I use the tight timings and ram divider or go 1:1 with slacked timings?
What is wrong with my Superpi TIME?
Yeah I tried running superpi at those settings and it gave me error about half way through on 32m. I think i'm throwin in the towel and just keep a stable oc at 2.6gHz or so.
