Gateway FPD1930 LCD monitor

Is there any way to turn this monitors power saving mode completely
off? I tried turning power saving off via the power saving menu in
WinXP with no luck. Gateway's site and the user manual are no help
either.

My problem is this -

Power saving mode turns on [monitor power light goes amber] for a few
seconds when I load up a game and at the beginning of cut scenes. It
makes it so I miss parts of cut scenes. I've tried the latest drivers
and older drivers and this doesn't help.

I'm playing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. This didn't happen
at all until I reformated my HD and reinstalled Windows.

I've had this problem before but it has never happened in game. It
used to only happen as games loaded. This will happen for weeks then
go away for weeks.
