now that my system is burned in (for a few days of straight gaming then at night dling and running constant virus/spyware scans) is it time to stsrt thinking about OCing or should i leave it on for some more.

BTW the 77.77 nvidia drivers worked for me, fixed some problems, but it dosen't boot up as fast now.... (better than the 77.72 one though...)

everything is stock

i got 1 120mm @ 1000 rpm as intake at the back and 2 80mm (dunno rpm but they are loud... even more so than my vid card's fan i think) as the exhale fan on the side and the top of my case

Run F@H, the best burn-in and stability checker going. Besides, you said you would. Bump it up to 210, and see what happens.

210? or 2100 MHZ?
BTW can someone explain what are ram dividers and how to apply them :)

or heck are there any pictured guide s out there for overclocking (with like bios screen....)

I don't want to screw up again.... this time i better read through all this stuff and find out if there is anything bad about them that comes with its uberness...(DFI...)

You don't need them unless you go over 260Mhz.

Let's see you daaance, sucka! You've got nothin' on me!

210 gives 2100. You set the base speed of the HTT, and it gets multiplied by 10 to give you 2100mhz.
It's probably time for you to go to the OCers forum, and read the stickies.

ok i downloaded clockgen, i got the HTT to 220, w/o any BSOD and runs fine with UT2004, i'm running F@H also with the UT2004 on (with UT2004 as the piroity of course) and that it was all fine, i've noticed that my cpu voltage is 1.346 (from PC Wizard, also from www.cpuid.com where clockgen came from), while clock gen says its 1.4?! is there something wrong with me PSU?!

BTW i tried 225 HTT but no go..... right after set windows BSODed with CG*.* being the cause so i assumed that it was clockgen that was causing it (rather me who set it to 225 HTT), is this normal OC for a 1.4V (1.346V from PCwizard....) venice?

BTW cpu temps range from 37-40 this is idle (CPU usage 2%), and around 42 with UT anf F@H.

with vid card at 42.5 and HDD at 46

i dont understand how u guys have such crappy overclocks...

Ive got a 3000+ Venice running the STOCK HSF from the retail BOX, and i got 2.7Ghz stable on my week 20 CPU on my Neo 4 Platinum system and i got 2.75Ghz stable out of my 3000+ Venice on my week 25 CPU on my Neo 2 Platinum....

Either ive got extremely good luck, or u dont know what ur doing when it comes to OC...

forget clockgen etc etc...

Download the utility called CPU-Z...

go into ur BIOS, set ur HTT to 3x, set ur CPU Voltage to 1.500 or 1.550...DISABLE cool n' quiet....set ur RAM to run at 133Mhz with 3-3-3-8 TIMINGS....set ur FSB/HTT @ 300MHz for 2700Mhz or 305 FSB/HTT for 2750Mhz ....SET UR CPU RATIO AT 9.0

DONE...thats what i did anyways.. and ive got a 3000+, well two of them...and there stock cooling...amazing [-peep-]...

its true, kind of?

I built a buddy about 2 years ago a system, 2500+ barton, 1GB OCZ pc3200 and an ABIT NF7-S 2.0....it would not run stable at 3200+

ME, on the other hand, having the EXACT same parts, SAME Board CPU AND Ram, OC'd to 3200+ the first day i had the cpu and than ran the rest of its life @ 2.5GHz....

I got my buddies board and cpu the other day..power surge blew up the MB...i popped in his ram and CPU into my board to see if they still work...fired up no problems..AND at 2.5Ghz aswell...

Go figure...

Now ive got TWO 3000+ Venice's on STOCK air cooler OC'd to rediculous speeds if u ask me...2.7GHz and 2.75Ghz respectively...

try dropping ur memory timings dramatically...than loosen the memory divider, that way u can find the max/wall for ur CPU's headroom...

dropping the timing as in like 3-5-5-8? and with a 150 mem divider?
