basically they are introducing a bill to prevent people from suing food companies and manufacturers because they are fat. lawyers oppose this bill and the food industry supports. finally common sense prevails

The Association of Trial Lawyers of America opposes the bill, while the food industry has lobbied for it. Both are big campaign donors.
The trial lawyers group contributed $4.2 million to federal campaigns and political parties in the last election cycle, with 91 percent going to Democrats, according to the Washington-based Center for Responsive Politics.
Restaurants and bars contributed $7 million, with 77 percent going to Republicans. Food manufacturers gave $3.3 million, with 86 percent going to Republicans.
So what does that mean?

It means that republicans are in control of congress so the bill is going to get pushed through like it should.

I was more or less hinting to the fact that the Republicans are happy getting stuff from the food makers and the Democrates are jealous so they support the trial lawyers to steal it in court.

if i was in charge this is what would happen. everytime a frivolus law suit is brought fortht the judge pushes a button and a trap door opens beneath the plaintifs so the both the plaintiff and attourneys disapear into a pit of hungry lions.

I'd introduce a bill that prevented suing without common-sense, period.

i say let them sue then we know who these people are and can take care of them right then and there. or better yet hand out ironic punishments. for people who sue mcdonalds because they got fat rule that they may never again eat at a fast food restaraunt and must join a health club and devise and stick too a work out program or else. also no longer allowed to eat junk food must eat healthy

Have you ever noticed that fat people walk with the palms of thier hands facing backwards?, have you ever tried walking like that, its really unnatural
91% is much larger than 77%, so it would indicate that lawyers have more faith in democrates to support thier earnings than food makers do in republicans.
