Alright, I recently got an amd 64 3500 venice about a month ago. Along with it I bought an Asus A8V Deluxe mobo. And here's my problem with the overclocking: I can only bring it up 100 mhz in the BIOS (210x11=2311mhz) and any more will mean windows wont boot up. Well, a few weeks earlier I was able to achieve 2400mhz by taking down the multiplier to 10.5 (230x10.5=2400mhz). Well I installed the latest BIOS driver and had to reset the BIOS, and now I cannot access the multiplier option. It is simply just not shown anywhere. If someone could enlighten me as what to do, I would be very happy. Here's my system:
AMD 64 3500+ venice core
ASUS A8V Deluxe
Sapphire X800pro
1.5gb RAM
Thank You

Since you took the time to ask for help you should post your solution for the next guy who might have the same question.

He's running 1.5gb ram...At least one of his problems is the ram. He's either running at 2T timings with two sets of ram 2x512 and 2x256...or he's running 3x512's which is where my bet is at. Either way he's losing probably at least a 10% further oc...

edit: Not to mention the A8n...it won't oc more then 20% with the best ram out there 1:1. I've heard of people hitting around 35% oc's with dividers though.

If you'd asked us 'bitches' for advice a little earlier, then you wouldn't have bought such a crap Ocing mobo in the first place.

Biatch.

the Asus A8N is plenty fine for general OC'ing, the people who call it crap are a bit too hardcore for my blood...

BUT... his board was an A8V, not an A8N...

yes Asus had quite a rough lunch with the Deluxe, though I've heard must of the problems have been ironed out by now.

I'm going with the Premium in my build, simply because I'm only going to do a minor overclock (10%) and more worried about easy of use and painless setups/component swapping. Little spendy, but it works well for me since I will be using 6 out of 8 of the SATA ports (I do a lot of video editing).

heh...sigh i feel like a dumbass for ever posting the second thing. Yeah, I also no longer have 1.5gb, a stick died on me and I now use 1gb (probably faster too). All i can say now is screw my mushkin value RAM cause it'll only run a 2.3ghz OC @ ddr 354, which is utter lameness. I understand I don't have the best OCing board, I plan on later getting a DFI and a nice $200 2gb kit. If I was an outsider reading my second post I would now be like wow what a newb. I don't randomly say "bitches" anymore either. Sorry for my previous newbness.
