here is the thing, is it better than a xp-120 and a panaflo 120mm high or ultra? i mean i was going for the 7000B-LED for the nice looking LED (i got a windowed case, why not take advantage of it?) or go for a xp-120 and a panaflo and maybe a case mod for an extra 120mm fan on the window?

BTW can someone send me a video of the panaflo 120mm high or ultra in working? under 100% speed of course, just so i could see how loud the thing is.

Edit: i found a review in which i get to hear the thing in operation and found that its quiet, not onto finding a sound of a panaflo!

Not sure about that one but can vouch for the xp120 and a panaflo. It's very nice, quiet, and cool. Even upping the voltage on my CPU to 1.65 only got the CPU to 58C max, 55C ave. I've got it at 1.5V now and it's in the mid 30's idle with the fan off.

hmm after reading server reviews, i found that there is only like 3-5 C difference between the top cooling soultions (xp-120, 9500, xp-90C, SI-120, 7700CU, 7000alcu, etc..) and i want to know, is this even relevent to OCing? do this mean frying yout cpu and running smoothly at 2.8G? if not i might as well just get the 9500 for its lookes, if yes then xp-120 is my choice....

I was looking for something quiet and cool. The xp-120 fits both those.

Now 3-5C is actually a fair amount. You'll then have another 1C or 2C depending on how well you apply the thermal paste. So it can add up quick. To me it's not a matter of how much juice I can pull out though, it's a matter of being overclocked 20% and still running in the 30C's. Compromise.

If you're looking to max out your CPU then go for the best air cooling out there. I'm not sure what that is, but when I did mine it was the xp-120. If you're looking for looks then it's kinda up to you.

I just realized that the cooler you were looking at wasn't even 120mm. There's going to be no comparison then. You can get a glow in the dark fan if that's all you're out for, but I don't think panaflo does that.

well that is why i was asking lol, i think its got 2x 92mm so i though how will 2x 99 compared to a 120mm? and someone said that 2x fans will create air pressure and that was suppose to be good...

Take note of the noise level.

36.2-50.3 dBa.

My fan runs at 35dBa at full speed.

I don't think there's much room for comparison.

O.o how do ya measure the db levels? they do it at 12" inches ... i'm gona assume that you did something close to that.. i know that the panaflo is measured at 41.5 dBa(from bigfootcomputers)

@wusy : UV? but if mine do expose to sunlight will it be sensitive enought to work?

I looked it up. There are different fans out there. The panalfo I got from newegg is 35 dBa. I never leave it on high though so it's lower.

For every 3dBa, you increase the power by 100%. Subjectively, for every 10dBa, you double the sound.
