I have an old G6 450. I think it has a Tabor 2 board?
I'm replacing a cpu in another machine and will have
a P4 2.0 Ghz 478 pin left over.

Can anyone recommend a system board the will work
in the Gateway case and take the P4 2.0 chip?

Many (novice) thanks in advance.

Just about any microATX or ATX P4 board will fit in the Gateway case, but you
also need to replace the power supply with one which supports P4 processors.
The older Gateway cases use standard wiring to the front panel, so you need only
connect the front panel leads to the appropriate pins on a new board. A
P4-capable power supply has an additional lead to provide the 12v needed by the
processor circuitry... Ben Myers

Look for an ASUS board that can use a standard power supply (i.e., no need
for an ATX12V connector).

Otherwise, you're going to have to replace the power supply.
