As long as the pictures are in a file format(jpg) your tv's usb port(if you have this) or a DVD/BD player with a usb port(many DiviX players have a USB port now) can handle, then yes you can use that to playback photos on the tv.

If you do not have a DVD/TV that can read USB, then you will not be able to play pictures on the TV.

Please note that some TV's have a USB service port. Those ports are not made to playback Images or Video.
